Trier may be the oldest city in Germany, established by the Romans in or before 30 BC, as the capital of the Roman province in central Germany. However, there is a much older history for this place that predates Rome by over 1000 years, that tells of a legendary wandering Assyrian Prince who made his way to that part of the world and actually founded the city. |

The Trier Steipe (the word means 'acrcade'), was built in 1483, but destoyed in WW2 and rebuilt in 1970 |

Saint Andrew's Portable Altar contains the sole of one of the Apostle's sandals. The beautiful case was crafted in the 10th Century and had been comissioned by Archbishop Egbert ( AD 977 to 993) who held this saint in especially high esteem. |
