Yokota Air Base

A couple of Yokota Air Base items

Staying here at what seems to be my home away from home, I killed some time watching TV, very early in the morning. It's interesting and I actually enjoyed it, although I understood almost none of the words. I took the bus into town once, to the New Sanno Hotel, and American Hotel in town, not far from a subway station. In the hotel are employees who speak perfect English, and when I need some information that I can't figure out, they have helped me a lot over the years.

This was on the wall of one of my rooms. Took a lot of work to clean up the reflections from windows and lights, but here it is, for your enjoment. I want to find this location one of these days. It's gorgeous and I can't think of a better location from which to take a picture of Mt Fuji, other than from the air, or while hiking up on it. I just wanted to share this exceptional picture, and only hope that some day I can take a similar one from that place. Apparently, taken in falll, to judge from the leaves and the amount of snow on the peak.

Early morning on TV. There was a splat and the loser was hanging out of the ring. The winner here in contemplation, awaiting the next bout

Several mornings in a row I watched this Samurai tale unfold. This unassuming hero, but with exceptional sword skills, was absolutely ruthless in exterminating evil types. He had a young woman by his side who fought furiously and had his back. I love that stuff.

The Kanto Lodge where I stay. I have seen it in rain, snow, and shine, but never when the cherry trees were in bloom. Pretty cool. Here's the bus that takes one to Tokyo
