This little girl, boldly called me from a path, as I was wandering through the Vietnamese village on the other side of the river from Hoi-An. She did so in English and offered me tea in her house (with mom's approval). She then started to carefully transcribe the vocabulary section of my Lonely Planet Vietnames-English phrasebook. I just had to give it to her as a gift (she' holding it in her hand). Of course she's looking to be adopted, like so many of these smart children are.
