53 years later, after digitally getting together with me once again 2011, he sent me this. A photo of a graduation picture of our select group, and there he was. Impossible to hide in such a small number of young men. It was, as you can see, bent, stained, and damaged. It took a couple of days' work in PhotoShop, to fix and repair. I sent it back to him like this: |

Suffering from a minor, but funny delusion, Alex professed to turn into the Grinch every Christmas season. His justification was, that he was a traditionalist who treasured German Christmas, the way we all do, back in the days of real candles, fresh trees, not overloaded with LEDs and countless ornaments. I had to applaud him for this minor, forgivable idiosynchrasy. |
