After Landing at Hickam AFB, I headed to Pearl Harbor for lodging. |
The USS Arizona monument, so close, and a Navy-run ferry leaving nearly on the doorstep of my lodge, but I had only a one night layover, and had forgotten my Nexus 7 tablet charging wire and needed to go to the Navy Exchange to get a new one. The base shuttle bus runs just once an hour and by the time I got back, the ferry had shut down for the day. The next morning was departure. Next time. |
Hungry as I was, I got to sample a Vitamix blend offered in the Navy Exchange. These are the ingredients. Perfect for Hawaii |
A fellow traveler, heading to Osan AB |
Always remembered this, my favorite Hawaiian picture on the wall of the Hickam AFB passenger terminal restaurant |
The next stop was a blast from the distant past, when, during the Vietnam War I was part of Arc-Light on Andersen AFB, Guam, and a couple of visiting B-52 bombers. |
A familiar and friendly place, the Yokota AB passenger terminal in Japan |
Samurai armor, well-known sight to all who ever stopped at the Yokota AB terminal |
The Osan AB main gate |
From Travis AFB, CA, to Hickam AFB, HI, Andersen AFB, Guam, Yokota AB, Japan, and finally Osan AB, South Korea
