Grenoble was a rest stop for the members of the Tour de France, for me a chance to get ahead of them, which I did at Moutiers |

A pleasant university town with a correspondingly young population |

It is also a vacation destination for the French and probably international visitors. There is the obligatory fortress and a cable car to get there |

With the Tour de France in town, there was definitely bicycling in the air |

After a coffee stop I made my way to the city center and found a Tour de France convention in the large building on the right |

There, nibbling on cheeses and sipping wine, I chatted with this tough French girl. She followed the Tour de France, on her bicycle. Amazing woman. |

There was a little Medieval church |

with an interestingly decorated facade |

And a small gaggle of French teenagers, just to round out the Grenoble experience - life is good |
