Spain 2001

Seville

Walking around the center of town, I heard marching music and followed up
The music took me to the massive cathedral, once a mosque, but like most houses of worship, ultimately reconverted to be a church
I got there just in time to see a mob of people disappering inside

Inside there was a huge crowd filling the back of the cathedral, with armed marchers lined up in front of this statue, which at the time I did not realize, was the tomb of Christopher Columbus

The town is pleasant to walk around in

The old Jewish Quarter

Other interesting nooks and crannies to lose oneself in

Love those large door knockers

On the way back to the train station I remember suddenly hearing the sound of a Spanish guitar, expertly played, coming from one of the balconies
