Then it was time to head across and up to Mad Ludwig's creation

There were lines and it was drizzling	but the scenery was interesting and the wait was not long

The inside was expectedly opulent

And balcony views were priceless

Earlier I had noticed this bridge and just had to find a way up there

Even, for a bit, getting lost in this forest, but of course I did get there and it was well worth it, as they say, it's the voyage...

From the bridge the a great view of Castle Hohenschwangau

And of the even more stunning Castle Neuschwanstein

Ludwig, btw, was not finished and had already drawings of the next dream castle, even grander than Neuschwanstein. Lucky, for the people of the State of Bavaria, he had a deadly swimming accident before his new project might have completely drained the coffers of Bavaria, with only more and more taxes levied to fund his excentricities.
