Bath

Bath is all about the Roman Bath

Long before Christianity was established in Britain, the Celts discovered the hot spring and built a shrine there that was dedicated to the goddess Sulis. Later, the Roman occupiers built the great bath here, including a temple that was dedicated to the goddess Minerva (the Romans saw her as the equivalent of Sulis). The name Sulis continued to be used and the name of the town, in Roman times, was Aquae Sulis (the waters of Sulis).

The stones show much wear from long use
and the water is still mineral-rich volcanic sourced and warm
