Senso-Ji Shrine

Asakusa, Tokyo

Oh, my, what fun! Sacred smoke. Wave your hands and have it waft over you.

I see some hope and also some skepticism here. The clensing waters. And please, no drinking from the ladle..

Yup, you see it right away. I didn't. I was focusing on other things. I didn't see the sign until I was editing the photo. There was a whole crowd of Japanese standing there in line to shop for prayer tablets and other Buddhist related items. No one said anything.

To my horrror I suddenly realized that my lens was not focusing. My fault. I reset it and did a quick test on this huge old Bull Dog lock on the grounds of the shrine. All was well.

Visitors eagerly seem to want to take advantage of these girls, and they are happy to comply.

They do start them young, (haha, just saw the sandals!),
but other than mom, role models are everywhere

A print shop that has been in business for generations

As they really once looked, waiting to get into a traditional restaurant

I could not begin to guess what these traditional sandals, works of art, definitely not to be worn, might cost. Next time there, I'll go in and ask
