Split, Croatia 2011

Gone swimming, but on advice of Danica, my hostess, the long way around.

You know it's going to be a good day, when it starts like this: Uphill
The fun did not stop here, it's just getting started.

Finally, just a 178 more steps to the top of the last hill to a viewing platform.
No half measures here. I was balancing on top of a thin wall, on top of the hill to get to maximum height. Wires held tall flagpole.
Now to get back down to sealevel and find the swim area that Danica told me about.
There was some encouragement along the way, altough, moments later they came back to jog back home.

You can see where this is going. The path was winding back and forth, zig-zagging toward the seashore.
Almost there now, just another half hour or so.
The pebbles were hell to walk on and as soon as possible, I leveled off to float out to deeper water. No sand here.
Was this worth it, or what?
She was very pretty and friendly, too. A regular at this spot. Got a phone call and was getting ready to leave, though.

After the bracing swim, I walked back along the shore, stopped at a museum, and then returned to this evening-view of the Split harbor.
