No question about the superior and controlling position for the guns of this citadel on both the sea and land approach to the city. There must have been tons of these on both levels pointing in every direction.

Hanging out of one of the upper gunports gives you this sensation.

Looking toward the land, and down, I saw another swimming cove, although not my style. I like to swim pretty far out in deep water.

Never taken, and you can see why.

On the way home, a different way, getting a little lost, I saw this very old graveyard with lots of sailors' graves.

Whatever, but I do like the sound of that.
