Dubrovnik, Croatia 2011
I arrived in the dark, and knew little of what to expect. I got an inkling when I stepped on the balcony of my room and got a view of the new harbor of Dubrovnik. Still, that was new stuff, not the Old Town. That was indeed a sight to behold and one I have to encourage enveryone to see once in their lifetime.. |

This is what it looked like off-season with two cruiseships in port and a number of tour buses unloading their cargo. So what to do? |

First, find the company of a lovely local woman and get information. This one runs a wonderful and slightly different sourvenier and book shop, near the entrance. She had info, and excellent recommendations, too, and I made a B-line for the city wall. |

After I got back from the wall, things had calmed down and I wandered around town |

I entered at the land gate. This is the south gate and the one open to the sea. You can see a cruiseship passenger craft right there (orange). |
