Hotel St. Nicholas
Rue Marche aux poulets, 32; B-1000 Bruxelles (Tel: 02 219 04 40)
A not very long walk from the
Centraal Railroad Station, will take you right into the very center of Brussels
and to this conveniently located hotel. Not much to brag about, it is clean,
reasonable, and just steps from the spectacular central town-plaza of Brussels.
They do serve an acceptable breakfast. Make a right, out the door to the corner
of a main street and cross the road, and there, on the corner, is an excellent
grocery store. Going right, rather than across, you find a Quick fast-food place
(excellent Salmon sandwich) and then get to the subway station (which will take
you to the Atomium and the great 27-screen movie theatre). Just beyond the subway
station is an Easy Everything Internet place (open 24-7). Get a map from the
friendly hotel desk personnel. The single room rate used to be $60 a night, breakfast
included.
