Pension Hargita

When I got there, the actual Pension did have only rooms with shared bathrooms available. When I complained, they treated me very kindly, and I ended up in the owner's former apartment, which he now rents out to students. Since it was vacation time, the apartment stood empty. We agreed on a very good price and I had a wonderful, unique and private stay. In the summer, the owner may well be amenable to doing that again, so feel free to contact them and ask. Pensione Hargita has a great location, just steps from one of the busiest shopping streets in Vienna, and just down the road from the trolley terminal and subway and train stations.

A dear friend recommended what she thought was a great alternative, the:

Schweizer Pension
Heinrichsgasse 2, Wien,

I will stand by that, since I consider her very trust-worthy and know her taste.

Well, I finally stayed at the Schweizer Pension and after long chats with the owners (they're widely traveled and know what a traveler needs) and observed the care, comfort, and cleanliness of the place I can rate it no less than:

Highly Recommended!!

The pension is just a short walk from a supermarket, and from the heart of the city. Also, a short walk will take you to the metro station and from there you have access to everything. Should you decide to go to Vienna, this is a reasonable, conveniently located, and excellent place to stay. The breakfast, too, is generous and nutrutious.

Here's an important Vienna link: Once you've got the address of your Hotel, type it in and then look at the real-time map. It's in German, but most of it is obvious and self-explanatory:
