Travel in 2017
India, Sri Lanka, Nepal...
I decided that to go to India in fall is not too smart, because that would get me into Nepal way too late in the year. Conditions may be cool to cold, as it is, and going late in the year would be pushing things. Going to India in spring, on the other hand, will get me there for at least one major festival, Holi, the colorful spring festival - the festival of colors - that is celebrated in northern India in March, and by the time I get to Nepal, it will be early summer and I will be in my comfort zone. |

Getting there: USAF from Travis AFB, CA, to Yokota AB, Japan, continuing to Paya Lebar AB, Singapore. From there commercial to Bangladesh, Colombo, and South India and on to Nepal. |
