Füssen

Saw this bronze somewhere on the way and had to do this picture

This is where one ends up. Paths lead to both castles and there are hotels, restaurants, and souvenir shops as well

I decided to see the parental castle first and stay out of the way of the rush for the fairy tale castle for now

The name of this castle is Hohenschwangau and was the summer residence of King Ludwig II, built by his father, King Maximillian III of Bavaria

The parents were able to see where the nation's money went

And then there was the goose man, probably from the golden goose story

The parents' castle is surrounded by great parks with old and bizarre looking trees

Richard Wagner, a friend of the family, spent time here and played and composed here.
Lovely decorations one could spy from various windows of the parental home
