Tokyo Motor Show

Sadly, a typhoon was in the region that caused days of rain, heaviest, naturally, on the day I went to the show.

BEYOND THE MOTOR

Still trying to figure out what they mean, but I think it's a translation problem. What they may have meant to say was BEYOND THE IC (INTERNAL COMBUSTION) MOTOR. Then it would have made more sense. After all, fuel cell, electric cars, and hybrids all have motors.

Getting there is easy. From any part of Tokyo use JR rail (cheaper than the subway) to get to Shimbashi Station. You exit the station, attendants will direct you, and walk to the stairs leading to the Yurikamome Line. There, smartly, buy a two-way ticket and you will get two tickets in the tray. Get off at Stop 11 and there you are, Tokyo Big Sight. The Tokyo convention and exhibition center. For example, I come via the Chuou Lline (far Left) and Shinjuku, Mitaka, Tachikawa, and then with the Ome Line from Fussa, where Yokota AB is located.

It was busy, that's for sure. I followed the signs leading to the first of the halls and dove in.

Harley Davidson was there with big trikes, only.

I don't even know if this beauty was a real car or just a mock-up..

I suspect the latter, because on closer inspection, there was some VR and on-screen car racing game playing going on, and the logo on the large red game console is the Sony Playstation logo.

Daihatsu
Well, on to the first hall and there was a brand I could have cared less about, Daihatsu.

Yup, the typical and quite popular Daihatsu boxes, this may be a concept or pre-production model

And on to Toyota

The cool Toyota F86 (sub-branded Scion, in the US), shared with Subaru, where it is sold as the BRZ
