Kruja, Albania

A lovely, young, fashionably dressed woman sat next to me on the bus and told me that I needed to change buses to go to the mountain town of Kruja. You arrive at another town with a very similar name first. In the second bus, another rather lovely women sat behind me on the other bus and was chatting on the phone and suddenly switched to a pretty fair English. When I talked to her later and complained about the cheating minibus driver, she said that it even happens to the locals. If you don't ask for the price beforehand, and especially if you don't have correct change, you will most likely pay a bit more than you should. Something I religiously followed after this incident. The lady, btw. was a travel guide, but this is off-season, so she was busy with other things, not that I would have needed a guide for Kruja. You get off the mini-bus, look left, look right, and you've got the place figured out. It's all there, on the side of the mountain.

Time to visit the national hero's castle.

As soon as I saw this, I knew where I would find myself a little while later. Not where they are, but where the arrow is.

At this point got a little better appreciation of the drop, below the cliff's edge
Loved that back-lighting through the red flags here
